Yearly Samaritan Walk

We had very uplifting experience at the Samaritan Walk. We who went from YAVP walked for "Paul's team" in memory of Paul Morrisey, who passed away this time last year. It was a time to remember Paul and others whose lives have been tragically cut short.

I met Paul's sister, who had organized the team for this event. She is an incredibly strong person, who has met the anniversary of her brother's passing with a persevering grace. I also met other members of Paul's family and they were equally as poised, even in the face of their loss.

It wasn't all solemn however. This walk provided a measure of closure and a cause for us to get together, and for some of u, meet for the first time. When I am in Arlington, or perhaps anywhere in the fall, I will think of this young man and the time I spent with him. I didn't spend a long time with him, but enough to know he didn't make apologies for being his own person.
